Our 2016/17 Christian Aid Ireland annual report outlines how your fundraising and campaigning support has helped us make a real difference in the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people.

This report shares stories of progress made towards ending poverty as a result of individual supporters, churches, international and local development organisations working together in partnership.

The names of our Board of Directors, Sub-Committees and our Leadership Team are detailed at the back of the annual report.

We take our responsibilities to be open, transparent and accountable extremely seriously and would like to highlight that we have taken the following steps to ensure that we comply with both the spirit and the letter of statutory legislation and best practice for Irish Development NGOs:

  • Our NI Company is registered with the Charities Commission of Northern Ireland and our ROI Company is registered with the Charities Regulatory Authority in the Republic of Ireland. We have correctly submitted our annual reports to both entities.

  • We have been compliant with the Irish Development NGOs Code of Corporate Governance since 2011 which sets out the main principles of good corporate governance to be practiced by our Board covering their leadership, accountability, responsibilities, review and renewal, delegation, Director integrity and openness.

  • We are a signatory to the ICTR’s (Irish Charities Tax Research) Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.

  • We are registered and publish reports on the International Aid Transparency Initiative website.

  • We are a signatory to the Dóchas Code of Conduct on the use of images and messaging and this is reflected in all our publications, website and digital communications.

  • We are certified against the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) by the independent certification body: the Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative.

  •  We hold the 'Investing in Volunteers' accreditation that underpins our appreciation of the value of our many thousands of volunteers that work for us throughout Ireland.

Christian Aid Ireland is committed to the vision to end poverty and inequality. We know this can be achieved and with you, we can make progress.
