Sheep's Head Way It's that time of year again, the wheels are in motion in preparation for our annual hiking event in West Cork.

To date, the Sheep's Head Hike has raised over €8,000 for our work to continue in some of the poorest countries around the world.

Last year, the hike was our largest to date with over 220 participants - this year, let's break that record!

We are grateful to everyone who attended and volunteered at our previous hike events, we welcome you all back to make this year even more memorable and successful than years gone-by.

And to 'keep everyone on their toes', we've made a few changes!

The Cause

Following on from Christian Aid Week, our focus story is from Bangladesh where climate change creates flooding which is having a severe impact on families living on low lying islands in the country. Through donations from Christian Aid supporters, our partner GUK has been providing communities effected with island rescue packs.

The fundraising target for this year's Sheep's Head Hike is €8,000 - the equivalent cost of 25 island rescue packs for 25 families in Bangladesh.

The Challenge

Christian Aid invite 14 participant walkers to carry a symbolic container of clean water for 1km over the 14km route. Through sponsorship, it is hoped that each participant walker will raise the value of one island rescue pack for those in desperate need in Bangladesh.

If you would like to set yourself the challenge, contact us and you will be allocated a slot on the route rota.
