Thank you to everyone who took part in this year's annual Sheep's Head Hike.
A day before the event, with horrendous weather conditions forecast, the annual Sheep's Head hike looked in jeopardy. But, it will take more than the Irish weather to put a stop to what is the largest hill hiking event on the peninsula.
After seeking advise from health and safety experts - we got the green light and the hike was once again a sure thing.
Clad in waterproof regalia, close to 120 hikers gathered at Kilcrohane Community Centre at the foot of the Sheep's Head Way to take on the challenge ahead. Due to poor weather conditions, the two promoted routes were adapted due to unsuitable walking conditions.
The Sheep's Head Way delivered, and against the odds, the sun shone for the last few kilometers of the hike ensuring everyone made a safe and happy return to Kilcrohane for well deserved refreshments.
Thank you to our hikers, leadership and support teams, our volunteers and everyone else involved who contributed, we couldn't have done it without you!
Donations are still coming in, the final fundraising figure will be revealed shortly, check back soon.
