In north eastern Nigeria, 7 million people – much more than the population of Ireland – desperately need humanitarian assistance.
With crises also in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Philippines Christian Aid are doing everything we can to support some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.
But with such pressure on our resources, some of our crucial projects will be in jeopardy.
Our head of humanitarian response, Nick Guttmann, recently returned from north eastern Nigeria and he said: ‘Families are clinging to life in utterly desperate situations.’
We are supporting people in north-east Nigeria: in Borno, Adamawa and Gombe states.
Nearly 80% of displaced people live with families who offer them shelter.
We are one of the few humanitarian organisations giving life-saving support to both displaced people and these host families.
Your gift can help people like Patricia (pictured above), who Christian Aid is helping as she rebuilds her farm which was destroyed in the conflict.
Please give what you can today.
