Recruitment of new Chair

Poverty Explored - Transition Year teaching resource

Christian Aid Ireland is seeking to appoint a new Chair for its Board of Trustees.

Christian Aid Ireland is an independent legal entity within Christian Aid and is part of a global movement of individuals and organisations passionately committed to ending poverty and social injustice. Our work is inspired by Christian values and a belief that everyone, regardless of faith, race, ethnicity, age, gender or other identity is entitled to live a full life, free from poverty and injustice. An essential part of these values is the obligation and responsibility on us all to tackle injustice whenever and wherever we find it.

Our work is inspired by Christian values and a belief that everyone, regardless of faith, race, ethnicity, age, gender or other identity is entitled to live a full life, free from poverty and injustice.

This is an exciting time for Christian Aid Ireland; within the last two years we have developed our own Programme Strategy and taken the global lead for ‘Tackling Violence, Building Peace’, one of Christian Aid’s Strategic Change Objectives.

Our work is underpinned by a Christian conviction of the humanitarian obligation to work with people of all faiths and none.

We are seeking someone for the role of Chair who shares our values and our ambition to end poverty, and who will use her/his senior leadership experience, international perspective and faith to lead the Board, support the CEO and play a key role in engaging our broad range of stakeholders.

This is an exciting challenge and an opportunity to help drive the performance of the whole Board and ensure Christian Aid Ireland’s values are upheld.

  • The role is unpaid/voluntary but reasonable expenses incurred whilst fulfilling the duties of the role will be reimbursed.
