In the spotlight: Jordan Greer

Introducing the Northern Ireland Collective Intern

Family Fun Day Jordan has undertaken a 10-month youth internship with Christian Aid Ireland, based in the Belfast office. He is responsible for outreach to young people and youth organisations in the Northern Ireland region.

In October, Jordan will travel to Bangladesh with the other UK interns to see various Christian Aid partners work in the country.

In the coming months he will be establishing and promoting the work of the Christian Aid collective, the youth activist initiative of Christian Aid.

Jordan says, 'I’m excited to get involved with the work of Christian Aid through campaigning, events and in outreach to young people.  I believe that the current generation of young people need to be inspired and educated about the injustices of poverty, climate change, tax justice and conflict around the world.

'I was inspired to be a Christian Aid intern because of the vision this organisation has to fight poverty and all forms of injustice through partner organisations around the world, a principle held by Christian Aid since it was founded 70 years ago. Through this experience I hope to play my part to raise awareness, campaign for change and help those in need.'

Outside of Christian Aid, Jordan recently graduated with a degree in Sociology at Queen's University, Belfast. He is an officer in the Boys Brigade, a volunteer leader at Greater Ballyclare Youth for Christ and member of Glengormley Methodist Youth Choir.

He also has experience in various youth and mission work including numerous trips to Romania in which he worked with local churches to run summer camps for teenagers from children’s homes.

Speaking engagements

Jordan will be available to speak and organise events with church youth organisations and school/community groups, run youth sessions and share our desire to fight poverty and injustice with all.
