Celebrity chef Kevin Woodford helps bowl over poverty

On Friday 26 March, ditch your sarnies and have a bowl of soup for lunch – and you’ll be helping to raise money for Christian Aid’s vital work with poor communities around the world.

Holding a Super Soup lunch is really easy – simply visit www.christianaid.org.uk/super-soup-lunch and register for your free fundraising pack. Then invite your friends, relatives or work colleagues to join you for a bowl of soup and collect a donation from everyone.

Kevin Woodford (Can’t Cook, Won’t Cook, This Morning, Ready Steady Cook) said:  ‘Whether you regularly make your own soups, or are a dab-hand with a tin opener, we need you to get involved in Super Soup Lunch. Get together with friends in your work canteen, at school, or the local café and enjoy your lunch knowing you are helping Christian Aid raise thousands of pounds so people in developing countries can make a better life for themselves.’

Mushroom, minestrone or mulligatawny… hot, cold, instant or homemade… however you like your soup, join Christian Aid’s Super Soup Lunch on Friday 26th March. It may seem like a small action to take in the face of worldwide hunger, but it will make a real difference.

For example:

£10 could provide a boat to deliver food packages during floods in Bolivia

£40 could provide dry food packages to feed a family in India for six months

£126 could provide 1kg of vegetable seeds for families in the DRC
