Something to think about

David resolved to teach sinners and transgressors as well as to praise God for His righteousness in delivering him from sin. David affirms that nothing, including burnt offering, can atone for sin - a broken heart is what God requires.

Where the spirit has been broken, on the other hand, and the heart has become contrite through a felt sense of anger of the Lord, a man is brought to genuine fear and self loathing with a deep conviction that, of himself, he can do or deserve nothing, and must be indebted unconditionally for salvation to Divine mercy.

The way to obtain mercy is for us to prostrate ourselves with a wounded heart at the feet of Divine mercy. God desires total restoration.

Something to do

As Zambia Anglicans we believe that it is not enough to only confess our sins. We should look beyond obtaining forgiveness for past sin, and obtaining present joy and gladness of heart, to making commitments regarding future service.

There must be a commitment to being good stewards of all the resources entrusted to us under the health programmes we run, such as the Cross Border Malaria Prevention initiative.

Something to pray

Almighty God our Father, who desires not just our forgiveness but total restoration, rekindle in us the desire for passionate and quality service delivery in Jesus' name. Amen.
