Poverty Explored - Transition Year teaching resource

Discrimination and HIV is a collection of activities and teaching ideas to enable students to investigate discrimination, prejudice and stigma through the real-life experience of people living with HIV in Kenya.

Poverty Explored - Transition Year teaching resource Students will gain a background knowledge of HIV and learn about the impact of discrimination through the real-life experiences of people living with HIV in Kenya.

The pack examines the role of some religious leaders in both contributing to the stigma around HIV and also how some religious leaders are speaking out and challenging discrimination.

The pack also uses accounts from the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Mark to consider what Christian’s might learn from the example of Jesus in how to respond to issues of discrimination.
