Christian Aid Scotland annual review

April 2017

Our 2016 annual review reports back on how Christian Aid Scotland worked throughout the year towards its vision of life before death, for all.

Christian Aid works in partnership with churches and all people of good will who believe that poverty is an avoidable scandal that diminishes us all.

Throughout 2016, Christian Aid supporters worked tirelessly to raise both money and awareness, sounding a radical call to action to bring justice and a just sharing of God's good gifts.

Together, we campaigned for climate and gender justice and for a welcome for refugees. By combining our voices and energy through such initiatives as 'The Big Shift', 'Change the Story' and 'Side by Side', we worked towards a future where all may have what they need to flourish.

Together, we knocked on doors during Christian Aid Week, lit the way at Christmas, planted seeds of hope at harvest and offered refuge at Easter.

As well as supporting our vital ongoing partnership work in 39 countries, our supporters helped us to respond quickly to humanitarian crises. Our Scotland-specific appeal for Malawi raised £130,000, with every penny match-funded by the Scottish Government.

We also enjoyed another successful Christian Aid Week, which raised £1.4 million in Scotland. During that week alone, almost 6,000 supporters collected door to door, and many more hosted coffee mornings and ran cake sales and other events.

However you contributed to our work last year, during Christian Aid Week and beyond, thank you for your commitment and support.
