To mark World Malaria Day (Sunday 25 April 2010), Christian Aid produced this photogallery to highlight the disease which is one of the world's biggest killers.
Classes for girls in Housche school, Afghanistan. Before the school building was built with help from Christian Aid's partner AHDAA, the children had their lessons outside under trees. Mosquitoes mostly bite at dusk and dawn, so, because the girls started classes very early in the morning, they would often be bitten by malaria-carrying mosquitoes. PHOTO: Christian Aid/Felicia Webb
