Living with HIV in Haiti

July 2010

People living with HIV are particularly vulnerable when disasters, like the Haiti earthquake, strike. Our photogallery shows the work of our partner POZ, as they help people with HIV get the food and medication they need to survive.

Haiti  has the severest HIV epidemic among the Caribbean states and is home to half of all people living with HIV in the region.

Before the earthquake there were an estimated 120,000 people living with HIV, with an estimated 6,800 children under the age of 15 carrying the virus.
