Our call for a lasting and just peace
As the war continues in the Middle East, countless families are facing fear, loss and uncertainty. Now more than ever, we must continue to pray for peace.
Christian Aid calls for immediate ceasefire in the Middle East to protect civilian life and for international humanitarian law to be upheld.
Leaders must work urgently to bring this war to an immediate end before mounting humanitarian suffering across the region escalates into a global crisis with no clear end in sight.
With most of Gaza's borders closed, families are in real danger of running out of food. The widespread displacement across Lebanon means our partners are rapidly assessing how best to support communities, while in the West Bank settler violence against Palestinians continues.
As ever, it is innocent civilians who are paying the price for decades of impunity and international political failure in the Middle East. In these dangerous times for the entire world, governments must demonstrate leadership and moral courage.

We pray urgently and unceasingly for peace across the Middle East.
We pray for communities who have been displaced and for families traumatised by bombing.
We hold before you those who need comfort and help, especially those who are injured or bereaved.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
