Christmas Appeal

You’d expect a conflict that's claimed an estimated 6 million lives since the mid-1990s, one of the deadliest wars since World War II, to dominate global headlines.

Yet for nearly a decade, the humanitarian catastrophe in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has unfolded in near silence, consistently ranked among the world’s most forgotten crises.

Today, the country faces one of the largest hunger emergencies on the planet, with more than 27 million people struggling to find enough food to survive.

Chance hoped for a different life… but conflict changed everything

Chance is a married mother of eight living in the DRC. Alongside raising her young family, she worked as a shopkeeper.

‘I thought my life would be happy – to work with my husband, feed and educate our children.’

Then came the gunfire. Soldiers looted her shop. Chance knew she had to run to protect her family. It was the last time she saw her husband, who stayed behind.

Chance fled with her children, her baby strapped to her back, walking for days through fear and exhaustion to find safety.

Now in a camp for displaced people, Chance worries about how to feed her family. She is brave and resourceful but the situation is beyond her control. No mother should have to fight this hard to survive.

The world needs to sit up and listen to the stories of people like Chance.

I would like my son to become a journalist who reports news to the whole world, because when information spreads, we are informed.

Let's break the silence

With your donation we can support families in crisis to survive violence and poverty against all odds. Will you help?

Support families who've lost everything

Countless lives are impacted by conflicts that rarely make headlines. A donation could help make sure this isn’t another silent night for families.

  • £15

or €17 could buy the 20kg bag of beans, adding vital minerals to a family’s diet – helping fight malnutrition.

  • £36

or €42 could provide personal hygiene kits for more than one family, keeping children safe and healthy.

  • £70

or €81 could fund pots, cups, bowls, plates and spoons for a family who’ve lost everything.

Every gift matters

Your support is urgently needed so that people like Chance can protect their children from hunger, malnutrition, disease and pain. Ultimately - to save their lives.

Don’t let families in crisis face another silent night

In the DRC, a humanitarian emergency is unfolding and there’s not enough news coverage. While leaders retreat and the media stay quiet, families continue to be locked in a battle for survival.

We exist to speak truth to power. To break the silence. This forgotten crisis doesn’t just call for donations – it demands global attention.

No one should have to face this alone

This Christmas, if you have the means to - let us answer God’s call to care for those in need.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

- Matthew 25:35–40.
