Climate change affects people and planet alike – but it’s also an issue of justice.

It’s the world’s poorest communities who are the least responsible for causing climate change – and who frequently suffer the worst of its impacts.

Tackling climate change is the next step in the church’s history of working together to bring about justice for the world’s poorest people.

On Wednesday 26 June, 58 Christian Aid Ireland supporters gathered at 4 churches across Northern Ireland to lobby their MPs by telephone or video call, as part of a UK-wide effort to demand MPs tackle climate change. We successfully lobbied 3 MPs, 2 MP offices and 1 MLA.

On the same afternoon, our CEO Rosamond Bennett joined 13,000 people who descended on the Houses of Parliament in Westminster for ‘The Time is Now’ mass lobby. Together, we warned 351 MPs of the dangers of climate change, especially for the world’s most vulnerable countries, and urging them that the time is now for action.

If you missed it, or if you want to take further action, there is still time. Please write to your MP & remind them what they can do to tackle the climate crisis now.

Thank you for calling your MPs to act on climate justice for our sisters and brothers living in poverty worldwide.
