let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
- Amos 5:24.
A bit more about us
Christian Aid was founded by the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland back in 1945 to respond to the refugee crisis in Europe at the end of the Second World War. Over the past 75 years we’ve worked in partnership with the churches across the UK and Ireland to expose the scandal of poverty, work in practical ways to root it out from the world and to challenge and change the systems and structures that favour the rich and powerful over the poor and marginalised.
We work through local partners in 37 countries to support poor and marginalised people, of all faiths and none, to lift themselves out of poverty.
Jesus called his followers to ‘love God and love your neighbour’. Through his life and teaching, his death and his resurrection, Jesus inspired and empowered his followers to love God, love their neighbours and strive for justice.
Christian Aid focuses on challenging some of the complex and interconnected root causes of poverty and injustice such as conflict, climate change, tax dodging, debt and gender inequality.
Can we partner with you?
We’d love to talk with you about how we can help resource and support your church in being part of praying and acting for a more just, equitable, sustainable and peaceful world where everyone can thrive and live their lives to the full.
