Global Neighbours Sunday

Love knows no distance

'Love your neighbour as yourself.'

Mark 12:31

Love knows no distance. You’ve picked up the phone, you’ve dropped off food. You have shown your neighbours they are not alone, now is the time to show the same support to your global neighbours. This autumn we have an opportunity to reach out and help more communities living in poverty. Communities where coronavirus has compounded the crises they already face each day. Will your church stand with them?

Global Neighbours Sunday is a way your church can engage with your neighbours near and far. On a Sunday during September or October gather together as a church community and have a service dedicated to Christian Aid’s work with neighbours just like Angela. Why not hold a Brew & Bake coffee morning after church, invite a speaker from Christian Aid to share in your service or use our ready-made worship videos below.

We have created resources to enable your church to hold a Global Neighbours Sunday, either virtually or in person, to celebrate neighbourly love, to pray, act and give in support of communities around the world living in poverty.

  • Our Virtual collection plate at caid.ie/collection (coming soon!) is a fantastic way to collect contact free donations, and we recommend this for your service. If you have no other option than to collect cash donations, the receptacle should be kept in one place and safe handwashing and hygiene practices should be followed when handling money.
  • Give via our website caid.ie/payin or call 028 9064 8133 to donate by phone.

Alternatively, you can send a cheque to:

Christian Aid, 96 Beechill Road, Belfast, BT8 7QN. If you are donating as part of a church or group, please remember to put your church name or group at the back of your cheque.

We would love to share with you in your service, whether that be in person or virtually.  If you would like a speaker for your Global Neighbours Sunday then please contact your closest office listed below:
