Join Christian Aid Ireland for their annual Supporter Conference in Northern Ireland

Saintfield Road Presbyterian Church, Belfast BT8 6GQ

Saturday 14 March | 9:30am-1pm | Coffee & lunch

This year’s Supporter Conference will inspire, encourage and equip you for Christian Aid’s year of climate justice.

Christian Aid’s theme in 2020 is Climate Justice, and we are calling the church to pray, act and give.

The world’s poorest people have long been living with the impacts of climate breakdown; families are torn apart by disaster, crops are ruined by drought and people’s homes and livelihoods are lost to rising seas. Global heating threatens the last 50 years of development work.

The climate crisis has thankfully become a headline issue, but perhaps you’re wondering how you can respond, putting your faith into action to love your global neighbour?

The Supporter Conference is a great way to explore how you can do something about climate change.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Dave Thomas. Dave has worked for Christian Aid Ireland for 14 years and through that time has built a wealth of experience of campaigning, including on the climate crisis.  With stories from around the world of Christian Aid’s work on the ground, Dave will inspire you with the difference your support is making.

David Thomas, Christian Aid Ireland Church and Community Officer

The world’s attention will focus on the UK this year as we host the UN climate conference in Glasgow. This is a great opportunity for us to highlight the injustice that those least responsible are bearing the brunt of the impacts of the climate crisis. I look forward to our supporter conference where together we will consider how we might give, act and pray for climate justice this Christian Aid Week and beyond.

Dave Thomas

Church & Community Manager

You’ll be introduced to the Christian Aid Week stories and seminars on pray, act and give will inform you and give you ideas to take back to your church. Over coffee and lunch, you’ll also have the chance to meet with Christian Aid staff and other volunteers, sharing ideas and encouraging one another, as well as browsing resources and Traidcraft goodies.

This is an important event for all supporters, collectors and church reps so please do prioritise coming along and bringing fellow volunteers from your church. There is a church bulletin and links to a poster and a flyer below.
