Annual General Meeting and Cost-of-Giving discussion event

Christian Aid Ireland’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th November at 10am in Orangefield Presbyterian Church, 464 Castlereagh Road, Belfast, BT5 6BH.

It will be an opportunity to hear a report of our work over the past year and to ask questions.

Following the AGM there will be a discussion event entitled:

‘Cost of Giving – Remaining outwardly focused in a time of crisis’

Since the Covid-19 pandemic rising food and fuel prices have led to a cost-of-living crisis and a growing sense of insecurity and instability. There is a risk that, as a society and as churches, we can become more inward looking, protecting our own interests rather than looking outward to the needs of the world.

How can we as church communities speak into this cultural moment with a message that inspires compassion, solidarity and justice whilst resisting pitting the needs of the poor at home against those overseas?

There is an exciting line up of speakers who will be giving us their views followed by an opportunity to discuss the issues raised and ask questions of the panel.

Speakers:

Rev James Burnett – Principal of Belfast Bible College

Hannah Rich – Senior Researcher at Theos Christian think tank

Rosamond Bennett – CEO of Christian Aid Ireland

Join the conversation as we hear from our speakers and discuss these issues together.

Schedule of the day:

10:00am – Annual General Meeting

11:00am – Coffee Break

11:30am – Cost-of-Giving: Remaining outwardly focused in a time of crisis

1:30pm – Lunch

Everyone is welcome to join us for either the AGM, the Cost-of-Giving discussion event, or both!

Please RSVP to dthomas@christian-aid.org and for catering purposes let us know if you plan to stay for lunch.
