Martin O'Connor is a schools and churches volunteer in Dublin
Martin O’Connor is a non-stipendiary priest in the Church of Ireland Diocese of Dublin and Glendalough. He has been interested in Development issues for many years and has been a long-time supporter of Christian Aid.
Martin worked in the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) until 2003. During his time there he served on the Executive Committee of ElectricAid, ESB’s staff development and aid fund. On leaving ESB Martin served as Education Adviser with Church of Ireland Bishops’ Appeal for seven years, a role which involved, among other things, speaking in churches and schools. The role also brought him into close contact with Christian Aid.
Christian Aid’s values are important to Martin. In his time as a volunteer he hopes to contribute to spreading the news of Christian Aid’s work to help those living in conditions caused by economic, climate and political injustice.
